It is difficult to believe that in our beautiful beach towns, there are so many of our neighbors who struggle to make ends meet. Many of them are service industry workers who fall behind with their expenses when their hours are cut back in winter months; others are folks who barely live paycheck to paycheck when they are unexpectedly faced with a crisis.
The Community Resource Center (CRC), a 501 (c)(3) organization, was created in 2011 to assist low-income individuals and families in times of need. We are reaching out to businesses in our community to invite them to become a sponsor for our annual fundraiser, Sowing Seeds of Change. The event will be held March 21, 2020 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Irish Eyes in Lewes. I am inviting you to partner with the CRC to help sow seeds of change that will have a meaningful impact in our community. If your business becomes a sponsor of our event, you will be helping CRC raise the much-needed funds to support those less fortunate. Our sponsors of the 2019 event helped us:
- Provide $211,800 in financial assistance to keep families in their homes by preventing eviction and utility disconnection.
- Help over 125 children each month by providing them with diapers, food, clothing and books.
- Prevent hunger by giving away 2,000 bags of groceries each month. During the summer, we gave away 975 meals to local children who are usually fed through the school lunch program.
- Host a summer Day Center for our homeless neighbors to provide respite, supportive programs, showers and access to laundry services.
And your donation is tax deductible. Won’t you please help us help others? Together, we can create a community of caring and truly make a difference.
